Internet Permission Form
Internet Permission Form
Dear Parent,As part of the National Grid for Learning initiative and our ICT scheme of work, we offer pupils supervised access to the Internet. Before being allowed to use the Internet, all pupils must obtain parental permission. You must sign and return the below form as evidence of approval and acceptance of the school's 'Internet Access Policy'.
Access to the Internet will enable pupils to explore thousands of libraries, databases and bulletin boards while exchanging messages with other Internet users throughout the world. At St. Alban's. all messages send and received will be monitored by the class teacher.
Parents should be aware that some materials accessible via the Internet may contain items that are illegal, defamatory, inaccurate or potentially offensive to some people . At St. Alban's we use an Educational Server that includes a filter provided by RM to process and stop any such desirable material.
During school, teachers will guide pupils towards appropriate materials, to ensure that improper materials cannot be accessed, rather than give the children an opportunity to undertake a free search. We believe that the children will greatly benefit from access to the Internet.
Outside school, familiars bear the same responsibility for such guidance as they exercise with information sources like television, telephones, movies, radio and other potentially offensive media.
The school has developed its own site on the Internet. A valuable aspect of the school site will be the display of pupils' work with relevant photographs. The photographs and work will not give the name of the pupil. Each year group will have their own page that may display writing, poems, drawings or photographs of activities.
We would be grateful if you could read the below guidance documents and then complete the enclosed Pupil Internet Agreement Form.
Yours sincerely
Mrs. F. Curless
